Blog #3: March 2010

Okay, I know... it's been a minute since my last blog. I should be ASHAMED, right?! But I'm NOT because it's been a good, busy time and many great things have happened since last I wrote. Let me fill you in...

I had my first role playing a "Bad" Girl! I play a supporting role as Simmi in the short film Jacob Jones. This was a great project in which I got to work with established actor David Ramsey (see photo at left-- I know it's dark, but that's us.) You may know David from the TV show Dexter or other projects. Click here for more info on his many credits. The film is part of the 168 Film Festival in which shorts are created based on a Bible verse. Our verse was Deuteronomy 30:19-20 (If you don't have a Bible click here for the verse... then go out and get yourself a copy of the Word!!) To check out the Jacob Jones trailer click here.
  • So, remember that CBS promo I wrote about in December?? Turns out it actually aired during the SuperBowl!! Yep-- can you believe it?! A fun ad with lots of exposure... what a blessing! If you haven't seen it yet, check here (and be sure to pay close attention 'cuz I'm only in it for a hot second!)

  • "Women in Hats" is in post-production and slated to screen in mid April. I just loved that project and can't wait to see how it all comes together...

  • Also, you can see my new headshots in the Gallery by clicking here. (I know-- it was time for an update!)

  • Last but not least-- my Cheetos commercial is currently re-airing. If you haven't caught it on the air, you can see it by visiting my Videos page here.
So, as you can see, it's been a busy time. I'm working on staying busy with acting projects in the coming months, so I truly appreciate your prayers, support, encouragement and just knowing I have folks like you in my corner!

Be blessed,
Kim

Blog #2: December 2009

It's been a busy couple of months since the launch of this site, so I wanted to clue you all in on the latest happenings...

  • Shot and wrapped the short film "Women in Hats" in which I play Olivia Harper, the wife of a strict and conservative pastor who staunchly opposes the liturgical dance ministry my dear friend Maybelle (Dele Ogundiran) wishes to start in the church. The film is set in 1947, and the detailed attention to the period is clear in every shot. The script is great, the cast and crew were wonderful, and no doubt the final project will be excellent! Though we're currently in post-production, check out the behind the scenes photos at : http://www.kimstinger.com/gallery.php
  • Shot a CBS promo spot for NCIS. If you are a fan of the network, look for me as the barbeque hostess who slaps a guest upside the head!
  • And finally, this time of year is always busy as screenings for all of the year's best movies take place around Hollywood, with each film vying for award nominations. I was fortunate enough to catch a few... Up in the Air (highly recommended) and Nine (very good) were my faves. The stars came out to support both films, so here's a quick fan-girl shot of me, George Clooney (... and some random guy with him.) ...Ok, so it's not the up close, intimate shot I'd LOVE to get, but hey-- it's still George Freakin' Clooney!!! Thought I'd share :-)

Blog #1: Let's get it started!

... So the website is up-- hooray!! Special thanks to the amazingly talented Cynthia Lin whose layout, design and technical savvy made it all possible. (Thanks girl-- you ROCK!!!) Geez-- it's good to have friends... and especially ones that KNOW STUFF! ;-)

Hope you all like the site. And I hope to have many more news items to add soon.

And speaking of friends, here are the latest happenings on the acting front. Lots of new projects with many talented folks are in the pipeline:
  • Completed the latest episode of Star Trek: Phase II called "The Kitumba" this summer. This was an amazing experience, and is set to be one of the best episodes yet IMHO! (Likely because I had the most fun doing it ever!) Check out info about the web series at: http://www.startreknewvoyages.com/
  • Cast in the film short "Women in Hats". I'll be playing the role of Olivia, the pastor's wife. (Thanks Mom for giving me a life full of research!) More details to come...
  • Just completed a USC grad project of a scene from "The Accused"-- can't wait to see the final cut! Had the pleasure of working with a talented new director, Jesse Knapp, and a fantastic actress on the rise, Jennifer Nitzband
  • Auditioned and was offered company membership with the Edgemar Theater Group in Santa Monica. I think it will be a great new "creative home!" Check it out: http://www.edgemarcenter.org/theater-group
Still keeping all my irons in the fire and working on what I love.
I pray you are doing the same, whatever the endeavor :-)

Stay tuned...

[webmaster note: Just wanted to mention that the Uhura drawing is a panel from Annime1231's Star Trek Reboot Meme.]
